William Stevenson was elected as the Member of Parliament for Yellowhead on April 28, 2025.

A Chartered Professional Accountant, farmer, and proud Albertan, William has spent his career standing up for the values that matter most to rural communities—affordability, safety, and common sense. With over 26 years of experience helping families and small businesses navigate personal and corporate taxes, William brings real-world knowledge to the challenges Canadians face every day.

Prior to entering politics, he ran his accounting practice from within the riding where he lives with his wife and their two daughters on the family farm near Carstairs and Crossfield—his family has farmed in the area since 1880’s. Deeply rooted in the community, William understands firsthand the struggles facing farmers, business owners, and working families.

Before being elected, William served behind the scenes in both federal and provincial politics for nearly 30 years.

 

Now, as the elected voice for Yellowhead—a riding stretching from north of Grande Cache to the south end of Kananaskis along the Alberta BC border—he’s working to deliver results for the people of Alberta.

​When not doing MP duties, William spends time on the farm, with his family, or traveling Alberta's back country.
